This South West London based public sector organisation is currently looking to recruit an Environmental Health Officer - Pollution to join their pollution team.

Reporting to the Pollution Lead Officer and Pollution Team Manager.

Your new role
As an Environmental Health Officer - Pollution you will work as part of the Pollution team providing a specialist service to discharge statutory responsibility to enforce legislation and protect public health. It has a strong regulatory function around industry and the commercial sector, and also acts as a specialist consultancy service in areas of health protection.

* Investigate service requests relating to 'statutory nuisance' including; but not limited to, noise, air quality, dust, smoke, light pollution and fumes.
* The investigation of service requests relating to rubbish accumulations including hazardous materials in commercial areas.
* To provide high quality, timely and accurate professional advice, guidance and information about all aspects of pollution, to customers, colleagues, members of the public, Members of the Council, solicitors, and other professionals.
* To deliver a wide range of services in accordance with legislation, codes of practice, corporate policies, local policies, guidance and good professional practice. This includes, but is not limited to; inspections, projects, surveys, alternative enforcement activities, publicity, attending meetings, processing applications, visits, investigating complaints and service requests, sampling, monitoring, gathering evidence, carrying out PACE interviews, taking statements and appropriate/proportionate action.

What you'll need to succeed
To be the successful candidate you will have a proven track record in practising Environmental Protection & Noise Control within the public sector. You will be able to demonstrate a good level of organisation, be IT literate and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Be able to work night or out of hours when required, in order to manage casework.
