Experienced Geotechnical Engineer

Ref RS325

My client who is one of Europe's leading multidisciplinary environmental consultancies is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Geoenvironmental Engineer to join their team, based near Rotherham.

You will join an experienced Geosciences team, participating in a variety of projects including commercial, residential housing and infrastructure developments with clients such as local authorities, power suppliers, oil companies and housing developers.

As a Geoenvironmental Engineer you will be responsible for the supervision of Ground Investigations, you will also liaise with clients and subcontracts, and you will manage Health & Safety aspects on site.

Within this role, you will also be required to:

  • Work both within the office environment and attend sites
  • Assist the design and management of Geotechnical Ground Investigations
  • Undertake verification works on site
  • Carry out logging of Soil and Rock in accordance with current standards
  • Provide technical support on various projects to junior staff, internal teams and clients
  • Complete Geo-Environmental Assessments
  • Prepare Preliminary Risk Assessments, including Phase 1 Desk Studies
  • Assist with the presentation of proposals and tenders

To be considered for this role, candidates are required to have a strong degree in a relevant technical discipline such as Geology, Geotechnics or similar. A Masters in a relevant discipline would be advantageous but is not essential.

Candidates must have demonstrable experience within the industry, specifically within Ground Investigations. In addition to this, having experience of liaising with clients and preparing tenders would be beneficial but not a necessity.

It would also be beneficial for candidates to have a good understanding of engineering geology and contaminated land works, experience of site investigations, the ability to write technical reports to a high standard and experience of managing site works within a set budget.

This role offers a competitive salary (experience dependent) with benefits and excellent progression opportunities within a well-established and respected consultancy, which can support employees with achieving Chartership.
