Ambitious and enthusiastic person with drive required to run HSE department. Overseeing QA companywide, reporting to the MD,

you will be instrumental in formatting future company procedures for this established and reputable contractor.

Negotiable £85,000 to £90,000 salary with bespoke package.

Health, Safety, Environmental & QA Director.  This specialist contractor has an impressive client list, including major construction and civil engineering contractors. You will be responsible for the overall management of all aspects of HS&E across the business; additionally overseeing the QA throughout the company, reporting directly to the MD. CMIOSH preferred. Ideally living within 1 hour’s travel of north-west London.

The Company. Established over 20 years ago, this Construction Contractor is seeking to consolidate on its successful repeat business and to grow steadily over the next few years. Specialist services include demolition, RC frames, ground works, civil engineering, plant-hire, basements and petrol station construction.

The Position. You will look at the existing procedures and overhaul them to provide a cutting edge approach that will encourage clients to make this contractor their first point of call.  Duties will include managing certifications, management systems (OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001), H&S initiatives, on-site safety and further developing a positive Health & Safety culture. Ideal Qualities. A strong background in Construction Health & Safety, with at least 8-10 years practical and relevant UK experience, you must be committed to professional development and demonstrate excellent management skills. You must demonstrate a positive and pro-active approach with a “Can Do” attitude.

Required Qualifications:

Degree or Diploma in Health & Safety

Chartered Membership of IOSH

Background:

Ideally with 8-10 years experience working on construction projects as a Health and Safety Manager or Health and Safety Advisor; preferably in the London area. Experience of excavations and associated works is preferred whilst experience in other Building & Construction aspects is advantageous. You should be familiar with Associated Legislation:

Salary. £85,000 to £90,000 plus package. This is negotiable and can include car or allowance, Health or Pension benefits. The company is seeking the services of an above average candidate to ensure that projects are successful and safely executed, whilst having forward thinking skills to assist the company as they move forward, so is prepared to pay for these skills.  Candidates will only be considered if they are already legally permitted to live and work in the UK.
