I am now seeking a Technical Director with experience of working on Flood & Coastal Risk Management to lead a UK wide team for a large firm of consulting engineers.

This role can be based at a number of UK offices as per location of candidate i.e. London, West Sussex, Hampshire, Cambridgeshire, West Midlands, Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire or South Yorkshire.

You will work closely with the Environment Agency and will manage clients, drive skill development, improve overall technical efficiency in appraisal, outline and detailed design, doing business development and taking responsibility for the delivery of projects.


Our client is a large multi-disciplinary firm of engineering consultants with offices UK wide working on projects mainly in the UK and some overseas too.


You will need to have a Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Hydraulic Engineering and be a Chartered Engineer.

You must have worked for the Environment Agency and have first class technical expertise on Flood & Coastal Risk Management (FCRM).

You will need to have a good understanding of how the Environment Agency works.

You should be able to drive technical innovation and have strong management skills.

Good experience of bid management and some business developments skills are also required.

You will have good knowledge of coastal processes and technical solutions.

You will have experience of appraisal, outline and detailed design of flood defences and water Framework directive.

Salary is in the region of £70000 to £80000 per annum negotiable plus many other benefits.
