Our client is a Leading International Consultancy, they require a highly experiences SVP of Business Development to join their team and oversee Germany. Candidates applying for this role must have a minimum 20 years' experience in the industry and must come from an engineering related background. Our client is looking for a strategic individual who is comfortable working in a client facing position and who has a proven track record of winning mega projects across Europe (Infrastructure, buildings, mixed-use etc.). Candidates applying for this role must be fluent in German and must have a proven track record of winning work within Germany.


  • Assist with the planning, overseeing and operationalizing through capture of select opportunities in key markets
  • Identify  synergies and priorities across business development efforts
  • Refines and enhance our clients business development processes and tools to improve efficiency
  • Initiates, facilitates, manages and builds new and existing client and partner relationships
  • Represents our client to clients, partners, and in industry events
  • Strengthens our client's role as a thought leader in Europe
  • Collaborates with Directors to track, identify, develop, and pursue opportunities in keeping with our clients areas of emphasis with new and current clients
  • Leads and supports negotiations with clients, partners, and consultants
  • Ensures systems to track upcoming RFPs, maintaining corporate new business tracker
  • Leads  the bid/no-bid process
  • Serves as advisor on critical priority bids on strategy, teaming, recruitment, writing, and pricing
  • Supports Practice Leaders to manage strategic bids, IDIQs/IQCs, and full and open bids and leads corresponding proposal teams
  • Writes proposal sections (as needed); reviews draft proposals
  • Using networks, helps identify, recruit, and vet senior proposed staff
  • Manages proposal budgets
  • Provides quality assurance services on bids


•     Engineering related Degree, International development/affairs, international business, marketing or other related field.


•     Minimum of 20 years' professional experience in international development


•     Minimum of eight years management and supervisory experience related to managing complex business development teams and bids


•     Minimum of eight years' experience in business development across European including Germany countries


•     Minimum of six years' experience in strategic planning and execution


•     Demonstrated track record overseeing business development as evidenced by contributions to organization revenue and growth through bids led


•     Strong leadership, interpersonal, entrepreneurial, management, and writing skills required
