Experienced Geoenvironmental Consultant - South Shields
My client, a global multi-disciplinary consultancy, is seeking an experienced Geoenvironmental Consultant to join their team based near South Shields. The role will require you to conduct and manage Ground Investigations, complete Phase 1 Desk Studies and Quantitative Risk Assessments on a variety of onshore projects across the UK.
You will be expected to utilise your previous industry experience gained within a similar consultancy completing Phase 1 Desk Studies, Phase 2 Site Investigations and site walk-overs to assist with effective site exploration programmes within the UK.
As a Geoenvironmental Consultant, you will be expected to:
- Regularly attend sites to conduct Phase 1 Desk Studies and complete Phase 2 Site Investigations
- Produce and review Geotechnical designs including Remediation Strategies
- Supervise Site Remediation works
- Carry out in-situ testing
- Conduct drilling and take samples of rocks and soils
- Complete borehole logging
- Write technical reports
- Carry out Contaminated Land Risk Assessments
- Mining and Subsidence Investigations
- Mentor junior members
It is essential that candidates have a strong a BSc and MSc in Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical Engineering or similar relevant technical discipline. Candidates must have a keen interest in working on projects that have a focus on Contaminated Land.
The successful candidate will be organised and self-motivated, be adaptable with a dynamic and practical approach as well as be capable of working well within a team and on their own initiative.
In order to be considered for this role, candidates must have working knowledge of Ground Investigation techniques and procedures, and be capable of visiting sites regularly. As the successful candidate will be expected to visit sites away from the office, candidates are required to have a clean UK driving licence.
